THINKING SPACE COACHING
Hello, I’m Lucy, founder of Thinking Space Coaching.
"My experience of coaching as a client allowed me to truly understand the power of giving myself time and space to think.
I realised I already had what I needed to move forward, I just needed help accessing it."
Since 2011 I have been working in secondary education, teaching media and film studies and I currently lead these subjects as head of department. However, I also have experience of pastoral roles; supporting student wellbeing and character development. I specialise in working with young people post-16 and all that comes with it!
My coaching journey began in March 2021 when I experienced first hand some of the challenges faced when working in an educational setting. I was confronted with my own vulnerability unexpectedly and I needed support – I just couldn’t think clearly enough to identify what kind, or where to look.
When I was sent a link to a Yes Futures programme supporting teachers, I thought I might as well give it a shot. It was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Experiencing coaching as a client, has helped me understand the importance of having space to think. I already had everything I needed to move forward, I just had to give myself time and space to access it. I am a walking, talking example of the belief that, in coaching, the client is creative, resourceful and whole.
As I moved forward in my coaching space, I reconnected with my ambition and drive and ultimately deciding that I wanted to share my experience with others who might benefit in the same way. So I did.
